The principal of Introspec Energy Group Inc. is R.P.(Pete) Singbeil, P. Eng.

Pete was born and raised in Calgary and so was destined to be part of the oil and gas industry.  He holds a B.Sc.(Co-op) in Mechanical Engineering (1989) from the University of Alberta and a diploma of technology in Civil Engineering (1984 with distinction) from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.

Pete started in the oil business in a practical setting by working summers and work terms in oilfields across Alberta.  Since then he has worked at major oil and gas companies to small startups and carries a diverse experience and network.

Pete has implemented and provided expert surveillance of secondary recovery projects. He has also been a key technical and business strategist in both technical and managerial roles in several operating companies in gas, oil and unconventional reservoirs.  Consequently, these skills are an excellent fit for valuing oil and gas assets or companies for acquisition or divestment. He has also worked on producing assets in diverse settings such as the Canadian arctic, winter access only areas, first nations, and environmentally sensitive areas.

Pete once chaired the Well Testing and Production Optimization Special Interest Group, and was instrumental in the formation of the Canadian Associate of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) Committee for Well Testing. He was also elected to the Petroleum Society Board of Directors and was awarded an Outstanding service award in 2005 by that organization.

He is currently registered as a Professional Engineer with the Alberta Professional Engineers, Geologists, and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA). He is also a member the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) which merged with The Petroleum Society in 2008.

Pete is an active volunteer for Scouts Canada as a Venturer advisor for the 77th Riverbend Scouting group.   He enjoys all seasons as an avid cyclist, water wakeboard/skier, and snow board/skier.
